Help finding Colgans

I know my grandfather was called Norman Colgan and born 1915 but i have no idea who his mother or father are.
All i know is that Normans mother was called Mabel Colgan, i have no information on where she was born or when.
Also i have no information on his father.
Colgan is a irish name so i'm sure that Normans father or mothers side have to be irish, one other thing is that Norman may have had a cousin called Anthnoy.
If anyone knows anything about this please let me know.
thank you
kiri.

wow thank you for all the messages!

Dea, yes you found his birth, thank you for the Mabel Colgan i will have a look at it. And about the marriage, i think that would be to late and Norman never said anything about his mother.

Margaret, he was born in lambeth in 1915 and died in lambeth in 1978 married in in 1937.

Jax, I was thinking that, maybe Mabel was there but i don't think his father was around at all.

I dont know why you think Mabel's marriage was too late?? obviously she was not married when Norman was born...but may have married Mr Judd at a later date

I'm just unsure because it has never been known in the family. It would seem strange that they (Mabel and C Judd) would not have been around or talked about...thats the only reason.

Was Norman not bought up by his mother?

What has never been known?

It looks like Judd/Colgan marriage had two daughters do you know of them?

Kiri

Kiri Report 23 Nov 2011 17:34

I think he was but he never spoke about her, I only found out her name by looking at his birth cert. The only thing I have been told is that Norman spoke about someone called Anthony a cousin.

Really two daughters! No i know nothing about that, this makes it more unlikely. Everything is unknown really, that side of my tree stops at Norman really.

There are no other marriages for a Mabel Colgan so either that was her or she never married or went by another name?

If he grew up with his mother, then you can rule out the marriage
