It's a new feature, just a couple of weeks ago. I've sent them, had to save each page separately so I've numbered them in order. Let me know if you get them OK.

That's very handy, I didn't realise that. :)

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 10 Dec 2011 16:54

No, there's no need now - you can attach images to private messages, let's see if it works!

Elissa

Elissa Report 10 Dec 2011 16:51

That would be wonderful, thank you ever so much! Should I PM you my email?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 10 Dec 2011 16:50

How about I send you the images? Give me about 10 minutes while I sort through it...........

Elissa

Elissa Report 10 Dec 2011 16:48

Sorry I posted before I saw you second comment. That's interesting as I was led to believe he stayed for the whole war. Does it give any name for next of kin?

Elissa

Elissa Report 10 Dec 2011 16:47

Anything more about him MarieCeleste! I'd like to know his address at the time he signed up, when he signed up, what medals he qualified for (i.e. was he there for the 1914 or 1915 star), etc.

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 10 Dec 2011 16:46

He was discharged after less than a year on medical grounds (shortness of breath upon exertion).

Elissa Report 10 Dec 2011 16:41

Thank you GlitterBaby, that's most probably him, as I know he was born 1891.

Does anyone know what R M stands for?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 10 Dec 2011 16:40

I have since disocvered he was in the Royal Welsh Fusilliers and his rgiment number was 4655. Any further records anyone can find for him using this information would be greatly appreciated!

Elissa

Elissa Report 20 Nov 2011 16:09

Does the Royal Welsh Fusiliers take men from where the name would suggest? I can see that this man was a Pte and therefore likely to be him.

Elissa

Elissa Report 20 Nov 2011 15:37

Sorry, that's what I meant, I just didn't express myself very clearly.

Elissa, all regiments do not serve as stretcher bearers,

But their regimental band members, being musicians and not as apt at fighting where used as stretcher bearers, Rather than the fighting soldiers them selves being taken out of the battle to carry their wounded comrades back from the front line

I didn't realise all regiments served as stretcher bearers, thank you for that. I believe he was born in north wales around 1895. He survived.
