i have service record as 5141

but i do have another cecil in the tree and the whole family seem to stem from surrey way (horsham features high in it )

I have taken a look at the image 87676 and yes I agree it does say father John Stovell, just off to see if i can find a marriage for a John Stovell to a lady called Harriet!!!!!

Only 2 Cecil Stovell's showing on the 1901 census, one born in Reigate c1892 and the other Brixton, London c1897 (would he not be too young to join up??) - Just off to check the 1911 census!

Only 3 Cecil Stovell's showing for the 1911 census: one born 1909 (not him), one born c1892, born Reigate, which ties in with above and the third born Hendon c1897, two middle names of Harry & George.

Could there be two born in Reigate about the same time

The pension record give a name for father as John Stovell, 35 South Albert Rd, Nutley Lane, Reigate

i am stuck in my bed with cronic sever bronkitus , and what i am finding is not making any sence to me

It would look as though Harriet was not married when she had Cecil, as no fathers name is shown on the Army Records, also shown as an only child as no others are mentioned!

Cecil was illegitimate.......probably Edith was as well

diferent person , but could be related,
