Hi I am trying to find family details for a father and daughter their names were George and Lily Bancroft both born in Ireland possible from the Kilkenny area Lily was born around 1882 Kilkenny

Hi Lily married a George Bramwell in 1904 Stockport on their marriage cert it gives George as Lily's father in the 1911 census lily birth is given as 1882 Kilkenny, Ireland.

I do not think that would be on the passenger lists I'm affraid

Hi on the Ancestry site it gives a record that may be a possible? connection to Lily and George Bancroft arriving in Liverpool

Ian, are you expecting to see incoming passengers from Ireland? There aren't any records for those (and someone will correct me if I'm wrong!)

The Ancestry incoming passenger lists are for journeys originating outside Europe.

Hi thanks I did not know that records were not kept for Ireland
on the marriage cert for Lily's father down as Soldier any Ideas if this is a lines I should go down?

Ian - have you looked on the 1901 Irish census to see if they were still in Ireland then? (I guess you're trying to work out when they came over?)

Hi Marie yes I have looked on there no luck so far also no luck with the UK census

Am not seeing anything for her on the Irish births or baptisms on Ancestry.

Hi did think I had found the Bancroft family in the 1881 and 1891 UK census living in Derbyshire giving Lily born Derby but in the 1911 report she as married George Bramwell and says she was born Kilkenny

Yes I know that Ian, but the one you suggested that I posted, married in 1898 so it is not the one born in Ireland.

Hi could anyone please help by doing a military look up for me.
You will see from my previous questions I am trying to locate some family details for a George Bankcroft / Bancroft born I believe possibly in Ireland, on his Daughter Lily's marriage certificate in 1904 it gives George as being a Soldier. they married in Stockport
