The IGI has an extracted record for the baptism of James Kearney
05 JUL 1864 0439, Downpatrick, Down, Ireland
.
Parents are given as John Kearney and Alice McVeagh.

This ties in with John and Alice's firstborn son James in 1881, so it doesn't look like there's a County Mayo link between the two sets of Kearneys:
