Find Ancestors

I wondered if someone can help please? I am trying to find out if my Great Aunt Mary Ann Carrington b 1853 Warkworth Alnwick ever married. I have found a possible marriage re 10b 422 Alnwick Q3/1867 but I cant be sure if its her. And if it is her, whether she married either Robert Black or John Dunn. Sorry don't know how to proceed.

If born about 1853 and married 1867, she would be very young to marry, but not impossible.
You can always apply for the certificate?

Have you found her with her family on the 1861 census?

Yes very young if its her....have to be sure before I order cert as at £9 odd a go, I cant afford any mistakes and I've made a few of those and they soon add up!!!

Not sure this birth adds up to this marriage ?

If you want to avoid wasting money on a 'whim' , perhaps you would like to post the details of how you have got back to her and why you think that this is her marriage??

We could try to trace the links back for you if we have all the details that you have.

I went on FreeBMD looking for possible marriage for her in the Northumberland/Durham area and this was the result. I realise that she could have married anywhere in England.
If its too much work, please dont use up all your time

Robert Main is her nephew, he is the son of her sister Catherine Carrington who is married to Robert Main.

You need also to look for a death for her................she may not have married............

Have you looked for/found any trace of her on census records after 1871?

Michelle - I am not objecting to the work or time involved in following this for you, I just thought you wanted to be as sure as possible before spending money on a cert (quite understandable) !

I wanted to know which direction you were coming from with the actual info you have?

You seem to be researching the surname Dunn, so are you tracing back from the marriage you have mentioned, or, have you found a proved connection to the birth of Mary Ann in 1853 and are trying to connect her going forward ??

We need to understand all the details you have if we are able to help.

My Great Grandma, Eliza Carrington b1851 married Charles Dunn b1849 in 1876 in Scotland. Mary Ann & Eliza were sisters and my whole purpose to this particular search of Mary Ann Carrington is to try and identity any relatives so that I can try and trace my GG Grandfather Michael Carrington who was born in Roscommon Ireland c 1820. I have recently put adverts in 3 Roscommon Newspapers and also written to 'Carringtons' residing in Ireland.
As you probably know, records in Ireland are very sparse and I have hit many brick walls in my search for any Carringtons!!
I am happy they belong to me and have contact with two descendants of Catherine Carrington but they have less information than me!!

Not sure this is the same one......Mary Ann was born in Amble, and she did have a brother, Michael but he was born c 1858.

Don't know if this is at all relevant but when Eliza Carrington (Mary Ann's elder sister) married Charles Dunn in 1876 their mother Ann, was listed as Mary Ann Southers (decd) she died in 1860. Michael Carrington died in 1876.
