Hi I am stuck.,and I am hoping that you can get me out of quick sand.I have a birth cert dated 2/7/1841(Sutton,Cambs) for Mary daughter of Thomas Croxford and mother Ann Croxford formerly Sulivan, and the baptism record of their daughter in Mepal Cambs. 28/11/1841 But I can't find their marriage date.or her death, which is before 7/7/1845 ,because thats when he remarried Maria Adams in Lakenheath,Suffolk |

Hi Astra. Her surname on the birth of her daughter is Sulivan, which could be spelt Sullivan, and Croxford might be spelt Crockford..I am thinking that the marriage to Thomas was her first marriage, but ???? Wheatle Woburn is that in Bedfordshire ?Thank you Bobby |

Hi Ann.The 1881 census is part of my fam tree..Abraham was my great grandfather. Thomas and Ann are the parents of Mary bap 28/11/1841 in Mepal Cambs..So the marriage should be close to that area with about approx 10 yr span.As I said before maybe Croxford could be Crockford and maybe Ann could be Hannah, and maybe not. What could be more simple? I am waiting in anticipation to see if you can crack this one ,because I can't Bob |

What i was querying was Lakenheath which is in Suffolk. The record says they married in Norwich. Would it be Lakenham? |

As Ann was only 21 in 1841 the marriage must have only been a few years earlier, maybe two or three. The problem is not having the earlier census to know where Thomas was working or living so giving us an idea of where she came from. They may not of course, have married at all. |

Hi Astra All that I have is the England & Wales Marriges 1538-1940 index from Ancestry ,which says Lakenham,Norfolk, and her father James Adams.I guess the borders change, and a lot depends on the administrative county.I have a lot of Norfolk or Cambs entries in my tree .My mistake its not Lakenheath, but Lakenham.Attention to detail Bob Regards |

Astra,Thomas was bap in Mepal 8/3/1806,and it seems that he lived around that area .1851 to 1881 census come from Chatteris,Cambs, but thats not much goodto his date of marriage to Ann Sulivan. regards Bob |

The second marriage is on BVRI but not the first. Realize that you probably have it: |

The 1841 gives Ann as not born in County; there also appears to be a tick in the column for "Whether born in Scotland, Ireland, etc". Her age is not very clear on the image but could be 24, possibly changed to 20 to take account of rounding down: |
