Sorry Mike but how can this not be relevant?

from Obituary of Don Hall:-
children Michael, Dianne, Carrie and Rosemary

from Obituary of Jane's mother:-
grandmother of Dianne Bastedo & family,
Mike Hall,
Carrie Lester & family,
Rosemary Lister & Family

If your side of the family is the Hall family, then surely this will help enormously as it gives you the married names of his daughters. If Mike had married I would have thought that it would also be noted "& family", so could be that he never married, or at least he wasn't married at the time of his grandmother's death.

It certainly looks that way from the evidence posted.

To prove that Donald was their father, you need the marriage cert. of one of the children to see who is noted as father, but it does look to be him from what was written in his obituary.

It would seem that Dianne Hall married someone with the surname Bastedo,
Carrie Hall married someone with the surname Lester and
Rosemary Hall married someone with the surname Lister.

You need someone with access to Canadian bmd, but I do believe that more recent records are not easy to view on line.
