Hi Mel I really dont no he married a gertrude hurdley-lee in 1914. I would have assumed he was born about 1890-1895 sorry not much help

There dos'nt seem to be any other records for this person and the number is so close, are you sure the last digit is a 9?? Have you one of his medals? with his number on it?

I have just found the Edward Piper on millitary records with mother Fanny and it's not the same number as you put up and I think he registered in 1915 which is a year after your Edward's death.

This oe I am looking at is a Cowman and on the census I put up his father is a cowman ag lab. So not your one, sorry.

Just a thought!! On the death we put up it says Residence Surrey. Could this mean he was from Surrey???? stationed in Hants.....

They were maried in Chelsea which comes under Surrey sometimes.

CWGC is the Commonwealth War Graves Commision.
