I have kindly been given help with this family before but
now have confirmed mothers maiden as leah.

I have lizzie leah born in cambridgeshire in 1864


in 1901 she ismarried to harry bond and living in wales he was born in 1847 in devon

her youngest child on 1901 is gilbert redvers bond born 1900 in monmouth wales, oldest child grace born 1891 wales

I have gilberts birth cert listing harry bond as father mother lizzie bond nee leah

in 1902 harry bond dies and lizzie is then with a harry bale all the children have changed their names to bale on the 1911

and gilbert subsequently marries julia george (these are my great aunts parents) with the surname bale

but i cannot find a marriage for lizzie leah to either harry bond or harry bale

i have all the childrens births, census returns etc but no marriages for lizzie leah.

wondered if anyone could kindly see if they could find a marriage for me for either harry

harry bond pre 1891 if going by 1st childs age
harry bale after 1902 when 1st husband dies

I know she is very elusive lol

its just a really strange set up, my great aunt has asked me find out about her family tree, firstly I had to break it to her father gilbert was born a bond not a bale, that was a surpise to her, now im getting the feeling lizzie didnt marry either of them.

If you look at the 1911 image Married 25 years 5 children 4 living is crossed out , so maybe no marriage ?

the last thread I had about the family was trying to find gilbert christening records which i have now marked as answered, its lizzies marriages I am struggling with. The 1901 lists lizzie as born in london but she was actually born cambridge which jax has posted


I do have all the census and birth info its the marriages I am struggling with

On the 1901 Wales census she says she's born 1854, Bow, London.

for gilbert it should read gilbert redvers bale / was bond born 1900

arthur the youngest is born after harry bond dies in 1902

Oh, come on Lorraine, you've got to admit you've got a real mix-up of families here. How can you say that the one on the 1901 census who was born 1854, Bow, London is the same one who was born 1863, Cambridgeshire.

now this bit is really strange

thanks for that but I do have her on all the census despite her putting london as her place of birth she was born in cambridge in 1863

Her parents where henry leah born lancashire and elizabeth also born cambridgeshire

her sister julia is the mother of my aunts mother julia george and her other sister caroline married a lockwood my aunt has lots of letters from the lockwoods including margaret her 2nd cousin.

I havnt a clue why she keeps putting london as her place of birth as it wasnt.
