Hi i wonder if anyone can help me I am searching for henry Westwell he was born according to family in Morda wales i think abt 1845 1850 He married a mary Elizabeth mack b 1851 Rawtenstall lancs cant find his birth her birth or marriage tried everything I know They had a daughter mary elizabeth b 1880 in clayton le moors lancs . I have her and widowd mother on the 1881 1891 and 1901 censuses so he must have died I presume just before she was born . Any help would be much appreciated |

No I havent as I cant find that either online I have throught the family got the date of 9.9 1878 clayton le moors but where that came from I dont know I have looked and tried the lancashire parish records bu tto no avail |

That is the correct census I was given her name as mary Mack by my mother in law |

No I havent that is my job tomorrow I was told this was her 2nd marriage after henry and have them on the censuses |

don't think there's a place called Morda in Wales - there is however Morfa in North Wales |

As there is a Henry Westwell born in Blackburn in 1843, is it just a story connecting him to Wales? |

Hi Everyone I have just been talking to my husband and have actually been discussing the one b in Blackburn But he says definiely wales so what i am going to do is send for the daughters wedding cert and the mothers as well . Thanks for all your help much appreciated |

I think that Shropshire is England, but perhaps Morda is right by the border (it does appear to be surrounded by Welsh names on google maps)? |

Hi just to update evryone who helped me I bought the marriage cert of Mary elizabeth westwell and Thurston rostron they were m 20.5.1882 in Clayton she is down as 32 a widow her father was joseph cunliffe . i have since found them on the census I also sent for the wedding cert of her daughter Mary elizabeth westwell to Richard newton Phillips she is 26 a spinster father henry westwell deceased so henry and elizabeth were married witnesses at this marriage were william arthur Phillips who was richards brother Elizabeth Ellen Cunliffe and harry rostron so everything fits . I just still cant find anything on Henry westwell . |
