Oops. Sorry,Potty. Why do I persist on thinking people are able to read my mind??

The marriage cert lists John (the groom) as a brick layer and father as a watch maker.

I do think that you have the correct family.

By the time I've finished typing this it'll be Wednesday morning. that's how slow I am

I am getting very confused! We seem to have two John Harveys. The stonemason who married Jane and the watchmaker who married Margaret!

By the way, if you look at the images for the baptisms that Chris posted, I think the year should be 1830 - the 8 in the page number is completly different and the zero in the date March 10th on the previous page is the same as the last digit in the year.

I really think we need Sandra to confirm John junior's occupation on the marriage cert and how she has got back to him.

Thanks, Maureen, have just found the marriage on Ancestry - it's been playing up a bit today!

So, is the John Harvey who was a watchmaker living with his father John (also a watchmaker) in 1861 the same John Harvey who marries in 1864 as a bricklayer?

I think so. Just my opinion.
Odd,though. Such a change in occupation. Eyesight??

APOLOGIES...I went off to get my dinner....I thought the thread had finished, have just come back to find lots of extra info.

THANK YOU all so very much.

On the Certificate I have John Jnr who is getting married is a bricklayer and his father a watchmaker.

John and Jane Mary who was marrying had 4 children

James 1865
John 1867
William (my grandfather) 1869
Sarah Ann abt 1874

I do have all the info on these....so the Joh and Jane that got married
were my gt grandparents and you have all found the rest further back.

Thank you again, hope this clarifies.
