hi im looking for the 1911 census form for the lewis family my grandfather is called walter R lewis and i think he had 6 or 8 brothers and sister they most proberly lived in the Camden area or somewhere round there im not sure what his parents where called but i think his mum name was possibly Jessie any infromation on this would be great my grandfather was born 1933 i haven't been able to find his birth certificate either he also has a sister called Joan or jean and a bother called geogre who may be deceased

If your grandfather was born in 1933 he won't be on the 1911 census. Are you sure about the dates?

Firstly though you need to trace your grandfather's birth cert as Lewis is a fairly common name. Do you have his marriage cert? How old was he on that? What was his father's name and occupation? That info will help find the family.

ok i can not find my grand fathers birth cert as i dont know his mum madadin name his married 1955 which i have and he was 22 i know he had lots of silblings and a few of them are older then him i dont know his father name yet as my grandad doesnt rember loads

Do you have his marriage cert? Is his dad showing on that?

If you don;t have the cert you really need to order it as it will (should) help.

Rebecca, If you have your grandfaher's marriage certificate it will give his father's name. It will also show those who witnessed the marriage, who might have been relatives.

We need to know those names in order to progress back in time.

If your grandfather is still alive does he not have his marriage cert?

I have Lewis's on my tree and their from Wales. Now there are loads of Lewis's in Wales so it will be a bit of a nightmare so i would get some certs ordered on what you know so far as said above.

I dont reconise any of the names you have said for my family but i dont know much about my lot yet as im going order my own certs next. I will keep you in mind just in case we have a link.

My granadad is still alive I don't think he has his brith cert. But he said his mothers madian name was something like norturat and the cert says willams on genes but my grandad is emm how do I put this hiis a bit of a. Joker his children one who is my father is not sure if what he says it true as he a bit joker. Every1 who knows him calls him raymond when really his name is walter I don't know why he does this on his married cert he is called walter r lewis he told me his father and mothers name but said he was born here but as I said knowing my grandfather he could of said he was born here and was infact not realli. And possible in wales but as I said my grandad not very persefic about his life

right i have all the sister and brothers name there was Walter R lewis (my grandfather) Syliva lewis ( who now is dead oldest sister) Joan lewis (about 1934) Geroge lewis (about 1937) Vera Lewis (abput 1940) and then Margert lewis (a lot younger then the rest) they lived in chalk farm camden area
