(of Shalimar, the Avenue, Hatch End, Middlesex)

England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), 1861-1941
about William Joseph Price
Name: William Joseph Price
Probate Date: 25 Jun 1938
Death Date: 5 Apr 1938
Death Place: Middlesex, England
Registry: London

I noticed yesterday that William Corbridge (Executor) Schoolmaster, was near to Joseph on 1911, he too was at Wandsworth, Xavier College (St. Francis, Xavier)

A snippet in the Times mentioning attendants at funeral of Charles Elliott, names a William Price, former Head Teacher Elliott Elementary School.

google is good here!...

http://www.aim25.ac.uk/cgi-bin/vcdf/detail?coll_id=12972&inst_id=118&nv1=search&nv2=

Not too far from both Williams in 1911.
also ties in with the Teacher Registration posted above by Tempest.

Chris :)

(just an idea!)

also this below, but not sure where Scammell would fit in, this William retired 1933...

William Price Headmaster from 1904 of Southfields Elementary Mixed School.

In 1910 the School was given 'Central' status and in 1911 the name was changed to Elliott Central School after the first Chairman of Managers, Sir Charles Elliott. In 1925 the school was separated into Elliott Boys' and Elliott Girls' Schools with Mrs E. M. Hewetson as Head of the Girls' School.
Mr Price retired in 1933 and Mr D.V. Llewellyn became Head. When the Schools moved to Putney in 1956 the Elliott Field was renamed as the William Price Field in his memory.

What was your Gt Uncles name?
What year was he born and where? What family did he have so that we might be able to trace him and find where he worked as a HeadMaster.

(choosing Southwark, then School in searchbox, brings up names, not seeing Borough though!)

You could try sending an email to the local history library:

Have you looked at the historical directories website.

Quite often schools were listed

Keith

If he enlisted in WW1 then surely you could find him in 1911
