I was hoping that page 1 of the manifest on Ancestry might hold a clue,but it's got me confused because at the bottom of the page it looks as though the passengers embarked on Apr.26,1871. |

I still think that the arrival date of 6 April at Quebec has to be a mistake since they were on the 71 census in England which was taken 2 April. |

I can't find a record of the SS Caspian arriving Quebec 6 April 1871 but there is a record of her arriving 6 June 1871. A mistake somewhere? |

Hi Martyn and Others, I am the one who set this 'hare running' your comments have sent me back to the print out from Ancestry, and the single sheet I have does NOT have a date on it. But the accompanying sheet by Ancestry give a date of arrival as 6 April 1871. |
