Find Ancestors

I was wondering if anybody has any sites they could recommend I'm searching for a birth of a Helen Haggerty according to Scottish census records she married in 1835 and was born in Ireland her parents names were William and Helen Heaten/Houten. I haven't as of late been able to find a birth certificate and the area she was born. Any help would be appreciated :-)

Helen's birth name was Haggerty, her mother's m.s was Heaten/Houten unfortunately scotland's people only had brief information on her marriage certificate and no birth details she married in Portglasgow 1851. No I havent checked family search will give it a try. I have searched a few other sites with no luck. :-)

sorry the date I have for the marriage was 1851 not 1835 I actually thought she may have been born around 1835 the copy I have from the marriage certificate from Scotlands people the date she married was 6th September and it is very brief in details it was only from Helen's death certificate in 1894 that I was able to find details out of her parents and census records stated her birth place as Ireland.

what was her married name ? you should be able to find her on a census which may give more details year/birth place perhaps

her married name was McLaughlan, but no details on certificate of her birth year or place of birth it was only I think 1881 census that stated the country she lived.

husbands name and/or children please, there are a few possibles born Ireland in 1861

Helen Haggerty was married to Edward McLaughlan unknown area also in Ireland. Children's names were Edward. Phillip, Thomas, John and Helen. I do have copies of the children's birth certificates.

Ruth...Edward and Helen also had 2/3 other children you haven't mentioned..Patrick b 14 March 1856..Port Glasgow. Wm 1 Feb 1859 and another Wm 20 Jan 1864.Possibly the first Wm had died.
It may be worth your while checking these other Mc Laughlan/ Haggerty Marriages (Port Glasgow) as there may be a family connection ..

Thomas Mclaughlin and Mary Haggerty..havent found maariage date but child Catherine b1855
Neil McLaughlan and Brid Haggerty.marriage july 1857 forst child Patrick 1858

Ruth..I had some credits for SP and then crossed checked with Free Cenus Search...so you will be able to get it from there..I also found a "Haggerty" family PG 1841 but not Wm and Ellen...could be relations..
Also McLaughlans/McLaughlins but not PG ....however I did pick up an Edward (35yrs.) on Scotlands People 1851...Glasgow City...
