If you send for his birth certificate it will give you his parents names.
The reference on Free BMD and Ancestry is wrong.

Trying to find parents of Alfred Frederick Pashley b.1877 Thorne, W. Yorks d.1954 Dewsbury, W. Yorks. Can only find him in 1911 census, married to Sarah Jane Hall, their children Thomas William b.1900, Eva b.1903, Nellie b.1904, Sarah b.1905 and Millicent b. 1910.
Any help would be much appreciated.
