Thanks Barbara - that's really nice of you. I know she was in Aberdeen in 1911 because she got pregnant there. We know who my Nana's father was - a pesky married man! I guess it's possible she went to Aberdeen after the 1911 census was taken and got pregnant within a few months. It's certainly worth looking into so thank you :) |

Just a thought Stacey, do you think Louisa may have gone to Scotland to have her baby--maybe to relatives---there is this Louisa on 1911 english census her mum was from Scotland. and although it says Louisa was born in Barrow in Furness on 1911 census--- on the 1901 census it says Barrow, Scotland |

Actually, just used a bit of nouse and found from the free header that it's ther Aberdeen Royal infrmary. Would she have called herself a domestic servant if she was working at a hospital?? Curiouser and curiouser. Maybe it isn't her after all... |

I've been looking for my Nana's father - John Baxter. And as a test I looked for eople I knew would be there - like my other GGparents. No sign of them either. |

I'm quite cross because on one of the entries it said someone was 49, which would have been the right age but when I opened it (at the cost of 5 credits) the person was actually 43. |

Well, I'm inclined to believe that this 1911 census is a great big expensive swizz. I can't find *anyone* in my family on either side and they give you such little information that you waste 5 credits a time viewing complete strangers. |

Absoloutely nothing! Can't find hide nor hair of anyone mentioned on the 1901 census entry posted above at all. I *know* she was in Aberdeen at that time - it's all very strange. |

Ahhh...from a bit more googling it seems that 6 Castle Terrace was a maternity hospital! |

Thanks very much :) I guess the Louisa above may show up on 1911 census with a few more clues. I hope so. |

Don't know the relevance for #6, but... |

Thank you. I'm hoping that it will at least give me some insight into whether 6 Castle Tce was a kind of home for unmarried mothers as from Googling it turns out that there was another child born at that address 6 weeks earlier whose parents also weren't married. |
