Please note what I said earlier

I have found a few with dec'd children on even one that had actually given the children occupations when they died as babies?

Not saying this is the case....but it could be

If there is a chance that the parents included him on the census even though he had died very young, it's something to keep in mind. Denial of disability, deformity or even death is something I've come across in my time.

Let us know how you get on with asking your father.

Hi

I have just joined GR and saw your search for Stanley James Davis of Devonport.

I do not know if you solved your query, but all I can tell you is that my Mother in Laws father was a Stanley James Davis, who was married to Annie Edith Mallett in 1924.

My MIL, Thelma Davis was born in 1936. Both Thelma and Stanley, am told had no bro or sisters.

I am also told that Stanley and edith had Thelma when they were older, hence probable the 12 year gap between Wed and Birth.

I haven't got a DOB but have you tried 5b 263 / Dec 1886.

Love to see your Tree to see if there is a match somewhere

Hope this is of use.
