Hi Eringobragh1916,
The piece you found from the 1901 census (copied below) - where did you locate it? I have been searching but nothing seems to show up in all my searches.
It appears to be the McCullough family I am looking for. I am most appreciative of all your help. Thanks.

Sandra phone GRONI and ask why you got a typed copy instead of a copy of the orginal. If there is an adjustment to the cert they will give you a typed copy. I have had 2 like that 1 was my great aunt and her birth date was changed and my mother's, who mother's maiden name was spelt wrong.

Hi Eringobragh1916 & Maura,
I sent away for the marriage certificate of Jane W. Gunning to William McCullough in 1888, but it has come back as Jane N. Gunning marriage to William. Maybe it is a transcription error as the certificate is typed, not copy of original. Mmmmm, will have to investigate further on that one. :-S

Can you tell me how I go about ordering a certificate online from Ireland. I have done it from England, but no Ireland before. I will send away for the marriage in 1888 of William McCullough & Jane W Gunning.

Can anyone find a marriage between an Adam Wallace & Ann Jane Burns c1864 in Belfast?

Thanks for your help.

Sandra....I would suggest that the "Wallace" part of Janes name would not be a previous marriage...It was/is common practice for a second name " Surname" to be carried through the generations.....this applies especially in Scottish Ancestry.
The Jane W Gunning who married Wm McCullough would appear to be the correct one ..I suggest you need to get that MC ...(Maura has furnished details) .
You could also check out any Gunning's with the "Wallace" name included.

Hi,
Thank you sooooo much to you all for your replies. I am away from home at the moment, that is why it has taken me a while to reply.

The Jane, born to ALEXANDER GUNNING & ISABELLA GRACEY, isn't the correct one. I did a check on her marriage years ago & the husband didn't connect with the stories from the families, & she only seemed to have 1 husband, whereas the Jane I have been looking for was married at least twice.

The other McCullough info seems to connect, especially the McCollough Jane Walace part, as the 'Wallace' appears on Alexander's marriage certificate as being his mother's maiden name (may have been another marriage),so I will try to search out some certificates for proof.

There are sooo many stories surrounding Alexander that I thought by maybe tracking down Jane, I could unravell Alexander's story, if that makes any sense at all.

Again I thank you for the information. Thank you to GR - I have been trying to unravell this family now for many years & kept hitting a brick wall. Maybe you have just provided the bull dozer!!

Cheers, Sandra

I thought this name was familar, I did a lookup at Groni regarding a Gunning for Sandra a few years ago, but I don't think I found what she wanted.
