Any ideas, anyone, as to how I might find a death date for John Henry Foster, born Aston, Cheshire abt. 1865/66? |

Clarence moved to Cheshire to live with his paternal grandparents; my dad always said that his father [John Henry's brother] and mother often discussed Clarence's 'situation' but would stop talking when my dad came into the room - and he was never considered old enough to know! Family lore is that John Henry died young, possibly 1900 -01? but I can't find anything to confirm this. He's not with his brothers anyway, wherever he is. Anything is possible with this lot! |

I wonder if John Henry "kept" Clarence while Mary Ann stayed with her (neighbour?) and the girls? Have you found John's siblings in 1901 in Cheshire? He may be with a brother or sister. ?? Good luck! |

Oh Maureen! The plot thickens... the first names are right, and I have just found a baptism record for Sydney W W Keeves - Sydney William Wallace Keeves... and his father has the same names! Are they living under an alias? How exciting.... but where is John Henry? However did you think to look them up as Wallace?! |

In the 1891 Census, John Henry Foster was living in Marton, Warwickshire with his wife Mary Ann [born c.1865, Knutsford, Cheshire] and their son Clarence Henry Arthur [aged 2, born in Marton] in the school house - John Henry and Mary Ann were the schoolmaster/mistress there. |
