There is an Elizabeth Horsley at Halifax aged 16 born 1845. Could I have a look up please. I am hoping she was born in Crakehall/ Bedale, Yorkshire. Parents John and Hannah. Thank you. |

The 1861 shows an Elizabeth with mother Martha - so probably the wrong one - do you want it posting anyway? |

yep, I'm having trouble finding her. There are a couple of Elizabeth Horsley's as servants, but hard to tell if it is her or not. |

Don't know, the children don't really match the 1851? |

I can't find any of them after 1851. Cant find any deaths and Benjamin seems to have disappeared. Could you tell me where Hannah Humphrey and John Kirk where born and then I might try to find them on the 1861 census to see if they are still with the family. Highly unlikely I know but you have to try anything don't you. |

If it's any help, Elizabeths birth place should read Crakenhall, with was Northallerton reg district to 1839 when it transferred to Bedale. |

Looks like Hannah born Stockton, but the other one looks like Thornlikle Beason - Sylvia may do better with the transcript? the original is really difficult to read. |

Thank you both very much, I do appreciate your help, my eyes are drooping so I'm going to bed so signing off. I sometimes wish I'd never started this. Night night. |

Marian, it may help to know your connection - ie how did you get to this family - have you got one of their descendants in your tree & tracked back? Or is one of them a sibling of someone else in your tree? |

just to add flesh to that 1851 Census in the hope (possibly vain) of finding a clue) |
