Could it be possible that one or both of the parents died after 1911 and she was adopted out because of that? |

When you say "adopted out to Warwick", do you mean to the place, or that the adoptive parents were named Warwick? |

Thank You all for so much help, I will search through the info and try and match it to my nan, I do not know for sure if the Winifred May Jones I have found is the right one, and no way of knowing unless someone else in the Jones or Cook family knows the real story, e.g.: maybe one of the other siblings past on info about what happened to them all, e.g.: Winifred being adopted out to a couple named Warwick. (Maybe the mother or father died and they were all adopted out). I know her adopted parents Warwick did not want people to know she was adopted and so my nan pretended for so long that Warwick was her real parents she never spoke of her real parents or any siblings, but she was young and may not have remembered or told to forget.. There were older children living with Mr and Mrs Cook and I am hoping they know what happened and pass the info on. My nan was born 9th Feb 1905, I will order a copy of her brith cert befpre procedding. Thanks all once again your all so helpful. |
