Yes, you're right. They have tended to throw out the great stuff about that site. It was very user friendly.

I just went onto the new www.familysearch.org and chose to go onto the 'previous site' as I found it easier to navigate-jle

Janet, which site are you talking about when referring to using batch numbers? I know how to use them on the old site.

Familysearch has changed but if you want to look at the old site click onto 'Go to the previous site' which is situated on the right hand side half way down.
The information on Thomas Wilkinson Driver was extracted. He doesn't appear to have any sibling in that batch.

If you want to look for siblings when you have found someone, just scroll down, if the word batch appears, click onto it. This will bring you a new index. Enter the surname, then to the right enter the father's name. All the children, in that batch, will appear for that father. Sometime several families appear if there are several fathers with that first name. Try adding the mothers name if that happens.-jle

Sylvia, family search doesn't give that info any more. There was a thread about it but I didn't bookmark it.

I think the gist of the thread was they were extracted.

record title: >>>>>>>England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975<<<<<<<< [Whatever this means?]
name: Thomas Wilkinson Driver
gender: Male
baptism/christening date: 17 Nov 1816
baptism/christening place: KEIGHLEY,YORK,ENGLAND
father's name: Wilkinson Driver
mother's name: Jane
indexing project (batch) number: C01068-2
system origin: England-ODM
source film number: 919146

Also, I haven't found a way to search by batch number so that you can easily get relatives.

Anne

Did you take note of whether the records you found on familysearch.org were EXTRACTED or SUBMITTED?

Extracted records have been taken from the actual parish records

Submitted records have been sent in by someone, suually an LDS church member ..... and they can be very very wrong!

my husband seems to think James Driver is nothing to do with my family tree. He thinks it is Wilkinson Driver who was married to a Jane. They had a son called Thomas Wilkinson Driver born 1816. I have been on family search.org and found the drivers. Could they possibly got it wrong when writing the records. Have found Thomas Wilkinson bap in Keighley library records. thank-you anne
