Andrew, I guess you've checked on freebmd.org for his birth/marriage/death?? There are a few to choose from!

There is one other person on this site who may have him in their tree but have the birthplace as Calverley.......not a million miles away from Idle apparently. May be worth taking a look and contacting her.

Hi
The 1861 census material would be useful. I already have 1871 and 1881, 1891.
Thanks very much.
The previous material has enabled me to find out Samuel's parents which I had not previously known about along with a much older sister. I think Samuel eventually abandons his family or leaves them for some reason.
Once again, thanks
Andy

Hi Andrew,

Patchem gave you the 1911 census details & asked if you already had the census info for the family because there's no point in digging it out & posting it if you already have it. Do you have already have it? - it gives details of quite a few children born to Samuel & more of his siblings which may be of use to you.

If you want the census data from 1861-1901 let us know.

Mac

I am sorry! I am new to the boards. I am very grateful for the help but a little taken back at some of the tone. I meant no offence but only just logged back in now.

Hi Andrew, it may be helpful if you put the names you are researching into the Search Trees box above to see if anyone else on this site has them in their tree. If you find a connection, you can contact the tree owner.

It is quite possible that Andrew has never used the message boards before and doesn't realise that he will not be notified of replies on here. I will send him one of my messages. Cx
