sounds like you have the short version of the certificates, to get the one with the father's and mother's names, occupations and address etc you would need to order the full cert from the GRO

Thank you for your help, we do know after the death of emily Albert finished his days living in Ilford with his eldest daughter.

Might be worth having an Electoral Roll look up to see who she was living with.

oh dear! the birth cert is very tiny it does not show the mothers name either it only shows the childs name and the registras name

Astra

Astra Report 27 Nov 2010 16:40

It could be doubtful then if Albert is the father or the two Romford children as she doesn't name him on the birth certificate.

I checked the 1911 by the address you gave and his wife is Emily. They have been married for 1 year and have a daughter Gladys Lilian who is 6 months old.
There are two more Trood/Ferris births. But they are in Romford. Do the names mean anything to you?

The details given to the Metropolitan Asylum Board are only as good as the knowledge of the person who gave them the information in the first place.

the Exmouth was financed by THE METROPOLITAN ASYLUM BOARD if they gave the birth details to the navy i would expect them to be correct also the name as they would have probably had him in care from a very early age, or am i being to picky

'Adult' baptism:

Name: Albert Trodd
Record Type: Baptism
Baptism Date: 25 Nov 1889
Father's name: James Trodd
Mother's name: Ann Trodd
Parish or Poor Law Union: Woolwich St Mary Magdalene
Borough: Greenwich

Address Warspite Training ship. Occupation Tinman. Born Nov 30th 1876.

I know the details don't match, but it seems a co-incidence not just with the name but also the fact both served on a training ship.
