Think Patrick was an only child. His mother was 30 when she had him and 10 years later she is on the Census with just him as a Visitor.

Thank you all so much. I checked out the birth of Patrick Mulhearn in Shotts & it is my great grandfather. The certificate states he was born at Omoa Works which is Cleland which is in the parish of Shotts. The marriage of his parents was in Hamilton and they were resident in Cleland, parish of Shotts.I live in Motherwell and never in a million years would I have connected Cleland with Shotts.

You are an amazing bunch of people, I could never have done this without you. Thank you once again. Now I can try and find siblings for Patrick.

safc will check out the 1858 marriage in Hamilton because that it on 2 miles from where Patrick was born

Potty, My g. grandfather died 2nd May 1922 he was 59 years old, so he was born 1862-1863. I know it listed his birth year as 1866 but I think people lied on the Census about ages and places of birth

FBG was correct.
