............but this does not show birth place as Clotton as does the census records I found, and as does the 1911 census which shows him married to Beatrice.
So what makes you sure that this is the correct family?

Unfortunately the IGI entries for Joseph and his siblings have been submmitted and show parents as Joseph and Mary Dodd ( which they obviously are not.)
