My grandmother always said she was born Dundee in Ireland (her geography was'nt much good either). Whether that was what she was told or just a liar we will never know, she was actually born in Stoke Newington. |

I would guess that George's age on his first marriage and in the 1911 census are more accurate than the later ages. ("65" at death is kind of a nice round number ...) |

Yes I do have George Ernest Fell's birth certificate 26th Jan 1905 but not Mary Margaret's 1903. George Snr's occupation was a labourer. |

I'm suspecting, of course, that he wasn't born George Fell, and his father may have been Frederick but not Fell (Fell being a stepfather), or Fell but not Frederick (Frederick being a stepfather), for example. |
