i never dismiss anything, cause when you get further down your tree you can come back and look and think yeah they were right ha ha ..it took 7 years to be able to do the stobbart side of my tree, so i'm sorry cause i basically dont really have a lot to go on at the moment .. i feel like a new starter again! .. thank you soo much for your help

Tracy, OK so dismiss 1891. Do you dismiss the earlier ones?

Actually I think you'll find that Robert & Robert Foster are the same birth. It would be a HUGE coincidence for them to be registered on the same page.

yes .. there were 2 born in kendal in 1891, 1 was robert and the other was robert foster stobbart whose dad was born in halliwell .. halliwell is not carlise cumbria, haltwistle is northumberland

i dont think it is .. mine was born carlise c1864 (i know you give and take with dates) but he married in kendal in 1890 thats why i think the robert you found in1891 is his son the rest of his kids were born in workington, cumbria ... but i am definatley going to look in to what you have posted, and i really apprieiacte it

I'm sure 1891 is your Robert. When you look at the image it could well be Haltwhistle scribbled over with 'Northumb' rubbed out or very faded.

He is married and lodging. George Hodgson is not his father. I've tried looking for Ellen/Nelly with no luck so far.

It's quite possible this may have been their child and Ellen may have been staying with friends, but I can't find her.
