Frances's details have varied a fair bit, as have Charles's.

Can you give the info you have about her, if you have an actual date and place of birth?


Charles's occupation: 1871 decorator, 1881 painter.

Hi Janey, Sorry, I do have a marriage cert. Father to Charles was John Quick (no further details).
Census details I have...
Possible..
1841 census, Chas QUICK living at Summerland Street, St Sidwell, Exeter. Mother Charlotte (1797) siblings William (1821) John (1823) Elizabeth (1828) Charlotte (1829) and Fryar (1831).

Possible..
1851 census shows a Charles QUICKE as a visitor to the Thornton household at 72, Warwick Street, Saint Georges Hanover Square, Westminster. Also a visitor was a Henry QUICKE aged 25yrs.

1871 census living at 11, New Street, Marylebone. A painter and decorator by trade.

1881 census living with his wife at 45, Grove Road, St Marylebone.

Could you please post the census records you have, rather than us having to go hunting for them?

Just copy and paste here. That way we know what they say for his birth details, who was in the household, etc.

To identify his father positively, you're going to have to get his marriage certificate.

I'm trying to locate details of a Charles Henry QUICK born C1825 in Exeter, Devon. Married Oct-Dec 1859 Hendon district. Died 2.4.1884 in Marylebone, London. I have details of his wife (Frances COOKE) and I've found a possible trace of him in the 1841 & 1851 census and a positive trace in the 1871 & 1881 census. I can't find him in 1861.
Can anyone give me details of his parents? His mother was possibily Charlotte but I'm not sure.
I believe there may be another Charles QUICK from Exeter that was born about the same time. He and his family were coach builders. This is not the Charles I'm looking for.
