She married under the name Emily 24/12/1905 (age 21 ), yet she was only 18. The law then ( please check), she could not ask her father he had died.

In 1881 George S shows as nephew to the Slaters............ so i think you're on the right tracks and he is actually williams brother

is it a stretch to suggest that he might be William's brother??

but it is weird, I can't see any of them on censuses other than that 1901 for Emily.


There is a Public Family Tree on ancestry that implies that the parents were William Woliter and Mary

They apparently had 4 or 5 children .... and the tree owner followed the eldest child Harriet(t), born ca 1881 and died 1967 ..... but even that person doesn't make any reference to censuses.



I tried looking for W*er ..... that didn't raise any name that looked as if it might be "them"!
