Thanks for all the information. This one is quite complex and I'm afraid I had tried to simplify it. I know all of Harriett Mannal's details including her family background up to 1881. |

I had the same problem with two ancestors and sent for the birth cert. of one of their children. The birth was registered in the husband's surname and gave the mother's maiden name - but they did not marry until a few years later (they both committed bigamy a few years later) |

Have you found them on the l9ll census - this will state the number of years they have been married. |
