Final Target shows: Ethel Constance Steel b.1894 - d.1982 with
Marriages of 1933 PICKERING N/Yorks. & SCUNTHORPE N/Lincs. I have Children fom these now but, lack her Birthplace to start search on her own origins, can any kindly GR find this for me pre my ordering GRO-Certifications please? Grateful any assistance, thanks!

Edit: She could have been previously married, she was 39 at this marriage if she was born 1894. But you said you had details of children. Does it give mother's maiden name as Steel?

As her death was registered after 1969, the certificate should show her birth place.

If you have the marriage certificate and know her father's name and occupation, it may be possible to locate the family in the 1901 and 1911 cnsus and hopefully find her birthplace stated there.

Can't find birth of Ethel Constance but there are quite a few Ethels. I think you're going to have to buy the marriage certificate to get her father's name.

Hi MM, Recent mailing in from a married-in member confirms she was 1894-1982 as STEEL then WOZ. then HURD (This latter the m-i Line). Certs. all show STEEL as Maiden

But it appears she died as Wozencroft.

Gosh, no wonder I can't track her, as her/their Son-in-Law, distanced by circumstance, I've always assumed it was a remarriage to HURD! the Derby connection is confirmed though and your ref. valued here. I feel a 'back-to-the-drawing-board' moment is called for? Grateful!

When you say certs all show mmn as Steel, how many children do you think she had as it appears she was 39 at the 1st marriage?

Married 7th. Child and she appears on my M/Cert.(Never met!). 11 Children in total! Estrangements create Family silences for me please note. Thanks!
