Sorry, but I have been out of touch for a while. Having done more thinking on this I am thinking the Minnie Moss I am looking for may be the one born in Farnham, Surrey in 1891. She was in domestic service to a family in Aldershot in 1911, and my grandfather was stationed in Gosport - not very far away in the early days of WW1. Somehow she arrived in Harrogate at some date unknown and was boarding at 18 Nydd ValeTerrace when my father was born. He was then left with a forster family in Harrogate with whom he grew up, but not adopted. We think Minnie Moss may have been working at the Barnbow, Leeds ammunition factory, but have no real evidence of this.We know nothing of her after that date. Does anyone have any clues as to how to proceed? |
