Another path you could follow is the servant Louisa Ivan. Often female relatives were employed to help out with young families. |

Unfortunately their marriage would have been before registration so you will need to search the parish records. Louisa was born in Blagdon Somerset according to the census. So they may have been married there, or at Winterbourne. |

This is all absolutely correct Ozbird - clarifies all information I have copied from others and helps me to understand how it all fits together. I found Robert Tucker 1872 but not his family. I don't think Robert HL Tucker is the right one - my own rather pathetic searches on BMD show Bob living away: RG12 1993/70 Page 12 and RG11 2508/63 Page 12. Thanks for your help, hope you can help me again when convenient |

There's no Robert/Bob Tucker with them in 1881 or 1891. Are you sure they're his parents? |

Thanks for this Brummiejan - I started to think this could be complicated in that she could have been Louisa's daughter from a previous marriage! Great, well done. |

In 1871 they are living with the Lutons on Haydens Farm with daughter Sarah 2½ years. This is mistranscribed as 23 years. |

Thanks Brummiejan, this looks to be correct. Louisa Ivan could be a lodger |

Really sorrry, I was still typing my first response whilst you were searching and providing information. Of course I am grateful to you both .... just wanted to know whether Robert Tucker's information was accurate as I didn't know where this information came from. The original dates didn't tie in. |

I don't understand this response at all. Firstly you gave the wrong birth county but have not acknowledged this. And you neglected to tell us that you already had his parents' names. Secondly the above person is obviously him. So what else do you want? A word of thanks might be in order too. |
