I want to thank all the above from the bottom of my heart,the information you have past on is huge for my dad!!He doesnt no much about his parents family and has only just recently found unmarked grave of his grandmother sarah anne pugh so for you all to fill in many more blanks is very overwhelming but in his words 'exciting' too. If you could point me in the right direction for tips as to how to find information now for his father william henry steadman born 1915 died 1971 i would be most grateful. I never expected the huge amounts of information you found for my dads mum so a very big THANKYOU xx

You have quite a lot of info here, perhaps you need to record this, before you continue. Its quite easy to go down the wrong track. I suggest that you need to order both the birth certificates for Ethel and William. These will give you the information of who their parents were and where they were born.
