Looking for George Gerrard b:1852 Lancashire

Family story is that George married Martha Walker in 1871 in Lancashire, Bolton Vol:8c Pg:468, he left his family behind in Westhoughton, Lancashire in 1880 and went off to somewhere in America.
I am trying to find out when he arrived in the US and what happened to him after 1880.

Marriage details correct

There is a George Gerrard on the 1900 United States Federal Census.

Immigration year is given as1880 and birth year 1850......but I don't have access to full details. Perhaps someone with Ancestry Worldwide could check this one for you?

Hi Richard

This may be a long shot but would you happen to have access to passenger lists for 1880.
Would a passenger list show what his marital status was at the time of sailing.
If this is the right person then he may have married for the 2nd time without divorcing his 1st wife, who was alive and kicking until she commited suicide in 1906
