Ive had a brief look for their deaths and found nothing. Someone popped up from another branch of my family and taken my time !! I will look in a bit more depth for them now

have you considered looking for a death for John W or Betsy? If you find them then maybe one of the daughters would have registered the deaths and hopefully there will be a married name on there??

re the possible Crowther/Walton children. There is the a death of Ritchie Walton aged 29 in the Mar qtr 1924 so I don't think there are any children from this marriage.- JLe

I see what you mean Nicola. She would have been 47 when she had the second to last and 52 for the last one. Mind you, the last one was doubful with it being a different area. I suppose age 47 is possible though if she was a surprise baby.
It's a pity there wasn't a John or they could have shouted "Goodnight John Boy" lol.

There are a lot of likely children born to the Walton/Crowther marriage Nicola, all who could possibly and many likely still be alive. I have just done a quick search on here and one of them seems to have himself.
You could send them a private message and see if it's the same family.

I know the Todmorden site, its been very useful, thanks. Ive found john and Betsy on the site run by the Mormons in America.
They married on 1.8.1887.
I dont have any birth certs as I only knew of Ethel until yesterday and its been such a while since I sent for any certs I cant remember how to do it, Must be an age thing!!

there is a John Willie Crowther marriage in the right era but it is to a Betsy Barker

did you get the name Hollin(d)rake from one of the children's birth certs?

I know a little about Betsy. I have her birth c1865 in Stansfield and her maiden name as Hollindrake, and thats all.
I have looked for her daughters but found nothing much, just one very doubtful marriage for Elsie in Dec1921 to ? Walton. Most of my Crowthers are in Todmorden

Did you look at the marriage for John Willie Crowther and Betsy? If you haven't I would take a look at her surname as it may well be an interest for you.

I was hoping to find the girls marrying in Halifax reg district but the ones that I did find I couldn't a corresponding death for them..... so I think they may have married out of the Halifax district.
