He refers to his date of birth as 27/1/1899 and his mother as "Dora Lowe" in an application for reissue of his discharge papers. |

Have you seen his AIF Service Records from WW1. There are 33 pages of records about John William Lowe service No 6610 on the National Australian Archives web site. I have not read all of them but there is mention of his marriage. |

I am trying to find the correct name of my paternal grandfather and his father. My grandfather joined the AIF in Sep 1916 from Tasmania under the name of John William LOWE (Service No 6610), he married Gladys Ann BIMSON in Netherton, England in Aug 1919 and they moved back to Tasmania. I have been told that his real name was Maurice Eldred LOWE c. 1898 and he listed his father on his Army enlistment papers as Albert LOWE. Any help would be most appreciated? |
