Some of this next lot of info is already on this thread. It deals with the electoral roll. Some of the people may not be your rellies. |

Thanks AuntySherlock, some of the info you sent me is very helpful and the Morris Eldred LOWE in the 1949 roll was my dad living with his uncle, aunt and cousin in Reserve St (my mum knew dad then). I will wait for the birth cert for Maurice Eldred now as otherwise I'm only guessing! When (and if) you have time have a look at how my tree is expanding thanks in part to you and the other legends. kind regards Phil |

Have taken a look at your tree. I believe your next step will be to find out the parents of Albert Lowe b. 1868. I am wondering if the first few posts on this thread are the answers to that question. |

Been doing a bit more research to establish your rellies connection to Tasmania. |

Hello AuntySherlock, I shall have to do my Library research on Saturdays (they close by 6.00pm in the area I live). I'm finding that it pays to go back over materials as the tree grows and pieces start coming together. I am more than happy to wait for a few days, and thank you again for offering to do more research for me, I am not used to people doing such things for me but I do appreciate your advice and assistance. |

Hi AuntySherlock, no luck with Maurice Eldred (or Morris Eldred) Lowe (or Low) being born in Tasmania between 1885 - 1904 according to BDM Tasmania. I did receive a Death Certificate stating that John Lowe died on the 4th of October 1946 and that his wife's name was Gladys Ann Lowe (nee BIMSON). So I don't really know if hew was born in Tasmania or if his birth name was Maurice Eldred or it could have been John or John William? I think I will now try to find out if hewas born in Tasmania between 1885 - 1905 (I don't think he could have been born later than 1905 as he joined the AIF in 1915). His wife Gladys Ann re-married circa Apr 1945 (RADFORD) although on "John's" Death Cert it says he was married for 26 years althougj they were married in 1919 and seperated sometime in the early/mid 1930's. Any thoughts?? |
