Hi Jany,

On family search I just found a record of birth for a Henry Tremayne born 1797 in Budock Cornwall. It says his parents were William Tremayne and Keturah Trevening. This could be the ones I'm looking for? Only in the 1851 census it says that Henry is 51 which would make him born in 1800. I'm not sure if I have the right parents for Henry.

That certainly looks promising, given the unusual name that looks to have been passed down.

Census ages are not reliable, and people tended to get younger as they got older. ;)

You may never be positive you have the right person -- sometimes the best you can do is rule out other possibiities. That one looks like a pretty sure bet, though.

See whether you can find other children -- just search for

father William Tremayne
mother Keturah
and no other details

and see what comes up, for example. See what might have become of them in the censuses, just for interest; maybe they followed the same geographic path. And search for the births of William and Keturah, etc. etc.
