Thank you all, I really am amased at what has been found for me, I did have the passenger listfor the Lucania, as the writing was so small I could work out 'Returning' but not the City.

Your help is really appreciated

There's a Jonathon Gething on the 1930 US census. He's 52, born England, living with his brother Arthur, 49 born Pennsylvania. They're in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania.

Ellis Island also has a Nancy Gething, 54, and Chris Jas, 10 arriving in 1899, also US citizens, also from Mexboro but it says Wexboro, also returning home to Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. Curious!

The Ellis Island site has a Jonathon & Alice Gething arriving New York 25 May 1901 from Liverpool aboard the Lucania. Jonathon was 24, Alice 22. Don't understand, I think it says that they're American citizens and that they're returning, passage was paid by his mother. Last residence was Mexboro and they're headin for Nanticoke.

Sorry Jan, i was amased by all the resposes I overlooked yours. Wath and Mexborough are very close. I had found Jonathan wirth parents Caleb and Nancy but on on e site it states he was born in Oldbury
