Thank you for trying. The only other option is that she must have changed her surname as I can't find a death record for her as Sarah Eliza Clack.

I've had a try but no luck up to press.

Though they still did the census's in hospitals and workhouses.
My mum was in Workhouse on 1911 census.

If Sarah Eliza Clack was in a hospital or some other institution would there be any way of finding her?

I'm completely stuck!

Mary Report 8 May 2010 19:46

1901 census says harry married not widowed and Agnes single,so going on that where was sarah Eliza Clack.
Could she have been away in hospital or some other institution.

Maybe that is why Harry and Agnes didn't marry until 1913 and the info on 1911 Harry having two children to present marriage is relavant,or then again maybe not.

It is not that uncommon. The sisters may have been only visiting for the day and included by the parents on that basis

Can anyone please tell me if it's common to find the same person more than once on the census or have I found two different families?
Thanks.

Strangely Sarah Harris is also listed twice on the census. As well as being listed with Harry, Alice and Esther in Ashford I've also found her with her husband Cornelius Harris and their son James Henry Harris in Hartley Wintney.

I can't find any record of a marriage between Henry Clack and a woman named Alice. However according to the 1911 census record Alice is the same age and was born in the same place as Agnes Robinson who was listed on the 1901 census as being the family's domestic servant.

On the image of 1911 Henry and Alice are listed as having had two children who are both still alive! Also interesting that Henry signs himself as Harry Clack Harlington but the last part could have been the house name

Sarah Harris was first listed as Clack which was crossed out and she is also listed as having had been married 2 years with one child who is still alive

I think Esther was listed twice and is also listed below

Thanks everyone for all your help.

K - That would explain alot! It does look as if that is definately Henry as it has listed his daughter Sarah Clack as Sarah Harris which was her married name.
