Thank you for your kind offer, Helen had a look and agreed with me the last 2 names (Witnesses we think) are unreadable but we have the childs and parents names. |

Shirley, I agree with Helen, you have done very well to get so far back. As well as surnames being common, the Scottish naming pattern means that you can have several first cousins named for the grandparents! |

Thanks, but how would i get them to you? The last one I purchased was from 1684 it looks like its written in latin if I didnt already know what I think it says you wouldnt have a clue. |

Thanks Its just got so difficult now with the scottish side of my tree as there are so many families with the same names I dont know how to carry on with any certanty. |

Shirley, as a guide if you find an extracted entry on the IGI and you are fairly sure that it is your family then look at Scotlandspeople at the record. It may give a little more information. Most (but not all) of the Old Parish Records entries on Scotlandspeople are available on the IGI at www.familysearch.org This may save you a few credits. Many of the OPR entries are difficult to read, it just depends on how clear a writer recorded them. |

Thanks for looking I spent hours on scotland people last night I bought so many certs but now im back into the 1740's they are unreadable.Seems like they took anyname they felt like its so complicated if you can help with anything on Christian Fraser I would be very grateful I used up all my credits AGAIN last night .THis is getting expensive Shirley |

I have now got Catharines birth reg but forgot to say both parents has alias's John Macdonald /Mcneil (his parents name) Elspat Fraser/MacEackin not sure cant read it very well. |

There are 19 people with that name showing born in 1790 in the Inverness shire area alone. Do you have any more details at all? |
