Sorry, but I have to go to bed, getting rather late, and an early start in the morning, Thankyou for the help, I will check in tomorrow night and see if there are any answers or questions arising from this.

Just a thought.

If Lilian Elizabeth had mental problems she may well have been in an institution at the time of the 1901 census. It was common practice in some such places to record the inmates on census records only by their initials, not their name. If that was the situation in Lilian's case it would explain why she seemingly cannot be found in the 1901 census.

If she was in an asylum in Hackney then these are those in the area:

Brooke House (Lunatic Asylum), Hackney, HACKNEY

London House (Lunatic Asylum), South Hackney, HACKNEY

Mare Street House (Lunatic Asylum), South Hackney, HACKNEY

Pembroke House (Lunatic Asylum), South Hackney, HACKNEY

I shall ask mum's cousin regarding that one.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Still very puzzled as to where Charles Edward was in 1901.

Hmmm, I went over this thread and can't see what appears to be a few posts. I seem to be having a lot of problems with Genes lately, mostly on the tree (old and new views), but this is the first time posts are missing in a thread. Thankyou for reposting that Jonesey.

Thankyou all again..
