Mary Ann Elizabeth Bird 1851. Married George Hutton 1874 Southwark. Her father on marriage record James Bird a labourer. George Hutton died in 1896. I have found Mary on 1901 census married to an Alec Henderson living with three of her children. I have confirmed the census is right by obtaining Mabel Hutton's birth record. The children are my mothers aunts & uncles. I wondered if someone who had access to Lon Eng Mar & Banns could look at a marriage record for Elling Anderson and Mary Ann Elizabeth Hutton in 1900 her father being Thomas Bird a bricklayer. Can you compare this marriage record with the 1901 Limehouse census. I need to find a birth record for Mary and her parents because I cannot go back any further. I keep looking at this and also found a marriage record for a Thomas Bird and Mary Purks which I am convinced are her parents. |

Yes this is the family, Arthur is my Grandad. I just need help finding Mary's parents. I have looked so hard I just cannot make head and tail of it all. I am working on Ancestry. I did correct the names on that census. |

Yes, all those are the correct records, I don't understand if they are right, is Mary's dad James or Thomas ? It's driving me mad, I must have brought nearly every birth record for Mary Ann or Mary Ann Elizabeth Bird to no avail. |

I didn't even realise I did that, force of habit when I send e-mails and letters. |

Sorry had a long phone call. Arthur was with his older brother John William at Forest Gate District School in 1901. His other brother George was living with elder sister Sarah and her husband Robert Phelps in 1901. Yes have Arthurs birth cert parents George Hutton potman and Mary Ann Hutton formerly Bird. Mary Ann Elizabeth Bird appears on three of the childrens baptism records but not on the others. Likewise George Hutton potman appears on his son George Albert Hutton and his wife Lucy Timson's marriage cert as George Albert Hutton deceased potman. I think that is an error by the vicar but it cannot be wrong for Mary Ann Elizabeth on 3 baptism records. I also have that 1911 census at 117 Keith Road, Barking. So I have gathered lots from her marriage onwards but not before that. |

Thank you for all your help, I will have a good look at this in a short while. I vaguely remember looking at this census myself before. I'll let you know what I make of it. |
