hi, so far i have just been able to find the birth for william 19/11/1815
and christening for agnes 02/12/1821
poss marriage for agnes richard slee 11/05/1843
found eleanor too christening 25/07/1819
i wonder wgere eleanor is in the 1841 census? could it be over 2 pages?

Yes, I think it is the same John & Margaret in the 1871 census. Eleanor Kitchen born Kirkby Stephens is listed as widow and daughter she is a dressmaker. John Kitchen, I believe, is Eleanor's son even though it says he is a lodger; his occupation is Plumber. You will also note he was born in Rochdale so I think this might be Eleanor's marriage

So looks like perhaps another sister of Williams

With regards to the 1861 census....yes I think that is the same John. Originally, I thought the occupation looked like Callcenter....did they have them in those days?! lol. But when I've looked at it again I think it says 'Carpenter employs 8 men'.

hi thanks for the help much appreciated, i think i have found john hutchinson in the 1851 census year of birth for him is 1794 kirkby his occ is carpenter and wheelright living on his own cant find him on here for the 1841,
in 1861 if its the same john he is down as living with his wife margaret his occ is collieuter graffer and dean, but then in 1871 he is living with his wife margaret and a son and daurghter but i cant make out there names occupation back down as carpenter, do you think it is the same man ?

By looking through the census pages for the registration district of Kirkby Stephens I have found the following entry it's in District 7 which covers Kirkby Stephens itself and is on Page 14

Of course, Margaret might not be the mother of Wm & Agness because as we know a lot of women died young in childbirth in those days.

There is another Hutchinson family living next door but I can't for the life of me fathom out the name of the male head (could it be Anthony perhaps?)....he is a Shoemaker aged 47 (perhaps a brother?) married to Rachel aged 49. They have a son aged 10 with what looks like the same name as his father.

In this same district is Elizabeth Loadman aged 25 (who it is believed to be your William's wife) living with her mother Dinah Loadman aged 35 occ School Mistress.

In District 6 there is a William aged 25 occ Carpenter and Mary 20 but this district covers Winton and I think William & Mary are husband & wife. Also, I think this might be William that appears in the 1891 census which is not your William.

There is this submitted entry on the IGI which I think is where your information came from as there is one for his birth and another for his death but they are all submitted. There are quite a few others including the one I posted above and there is a submitted entry for that one saying that William died at a couple of months old.

Just as an added extra to the info on William I have found this
In 1871 there is a John Hutchinson as a visitor where Elizabeth is a servant. He could be a relative
These are all the children of Adam Hutchinson and Elizabeth Brunskill. John and William could be brothers as Mallerstang is just outside of Kirkby Stephen. Worth a thought
