With regards to the 1861 census....yes I think that is the same John. Originally, I thought the occupation looked like Callcenter....did they have them in those days?! lol. But when I've looked at it again I think it says 'Carpenter employs 8 men'. |

Yes, I think it is the same John & Margaret in the 1871 census. Eleanor Kitchen born Kirkby Stephens is listed as widow and daughter she is a dressmaker. John Kitchen, I believe, is Eleanor's son even though it says he is a lodger; his occupation is Plumber. You will also note he was born in Rochdale so I think this might be Eleanor's marriage |
