Hmm..interesting..can you please see if you can see wife or daughter in 1861?

I believe Louis was in Australia by the mid50s and had 4 chn with another woman, but no death found for Louisa in UK or Oz, nor a marriage for him.

Louis' death in Victoria Australia shows he was born in London, and his daughter with Louisa married in Victoria as well, so seems unlikely this is a different Louis (AND he was also a teacher). It all fits - except for poor Louisa.

Aha, just found this - appears to be travelling alone (or at least not with anyone by same surname)

Yes that one on the IGI is the one, details confirmed by her marriage cert. (This is for a friend's cousin!) (by the way 14 was her age)

Louis Fredk's parents were Davis Louis Perrottet and Esther Eliza Holbrook. Not sure about the other one. But yes that is definitely the marriage in 1848. It is just that she disappears!

Look at what I found - looked for deaths for Louisa Julia with no surname between 1851-1863 - found her!!!

Still I wonder where young Mary Louisa lived after her mother died and then her father went to Australia in 1853 (if that is him), til she came to Australia too aged 14. What a story.

So she died soon after the census was takne ..... March 31 1851



But I still cannot find Mary or Louis in 1861


Nor can I find David Louis, Eliza or Henry Albert in 1851!





I was thinking that Mary could be with one or other of the grandparents.
